Vegetable Gardening: Growing Carrots Organically

Carrots
Carrots are one of the most nutrient packed vegetables you can
grow in your garden. It's off the charts when it comes to
Vitamin A. This high vitamin content, in the form of
beta carotene, gives this root vegetable
it's beautiful orange color.
Think you can't grow carrots in containers? Small or midget
varieties of carrots work well in container gardens.

- Carrots do well in most soils, although some varieties
are better suited for loose soils. If you have clayey
soils, choose carrot varieties such as
Thumbelina.
- Care should be taken to prevent the small carrot seeds from
being flushed away until germination.
- Thinning the seedlings encourages bigger carrots.

Pure Black Castings™ into your garden soil at a rate of
1 pound per 50 square feet.
