1. Starting Eggplants from Seeds:
For quicker seed sprouting, follow this
method for
starting eggplant from seeds......
Dig an 1/8 inch hole, line the bottom with Pure Black Castings®.
Place 3 eggplant seeds into the hole and spritz with VermaPlex® mixed 20:1 with water.
Once plants have formed true leaves, apply mix of 4-6 ounces VermaPlex® per 1 gallon of water (pre-bloom).
Thereafter, apply VermaPlex®/water mixture every 7-14 days. Apply a top dressing of Pure Black Castings® throughout the growing season.
2. Starting Eggplants from Seedlings:
Produce the most blooms and form the most fruit
on your eggplants......
Mix about 8 ounces of Pure Black Castings™ into the garden soil/potting soil mix.
Add and handful of Pure Black Castings™ in the bottom of the hole when transplanting and drench with VermaPlex.
Sprinkle Pure Black Castings® around planting area after backfilling the plant. Drench with VermaPlex ®(mix 20:1)
After blooming, add 2 ounces VermaPlex® per 1 gallon of water and drench plant every 7-14 days. Side dress with Pure Black Castings™ throughout the growing season.
Add calcium at planting to prevent blossom drop. Go easy on the nitrogen, especially when blooming starts.
Using a slow release, organic fertilizer like worm castings and inoculating your soils with microbes ensures your plants receive all the nutrition they need without inhibiting the calcium uptake.
